The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has opened criminal proceedings on the fact of misinformation on property ownership by Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko. This was reported by the NABU responding to the Ukrainian News request.
The respective data was added to the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations in accordance with the court’s decision, which obliged NABU to register criminal proceedings.
According to the inform source, the investigation opened under Article 366-1 (declaration of unreliable information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the electronic declaration for 2017, filled by Pavlo Petrenko, he does not own any property and lives in a rented one. The minister also indicated that he owns a Volkswagen Golf car (2009 year of production), but at the same time uses a rented Toyota car. Besides, the official has substantial sums in cash and in bank accounts.
As The Journalist reported, the NABU lost the Iphone, which is the material evidence for one of the cases.
