Naftogaz has completed drilling a well of 5,245 m. depth at the Machukhske gas condensate field – one of the most difficult fields in Ukraine, as its gas deposits are characterized by abnormally high reservoir pressures over 1,000 atm and temperatures of 160-170°C, according to the Journalist, citing the press service of the company.
Due to the use of advanced technologies, the drilling time was reduced to 141 days. Previously, the building of such wells at the field took up a year or more. The drilling contractor Service-Oil LLC use a Drillmec-350 rig equipped with a Top Drive top drive system. The drill bit service was provided by NOV Company.
Traditionally, drilling fluids have been provided by Geosintez-Engineering. For the first time in the Machukhske field, drilling of the 8.5″ section was also carried out using a hydrocarbon solution, thereby minimizing risks and reducing the construction time of the section by 11 days. At the same time, the quality of production casing fastening is the best in the field.
