This is a joint project of Naftogaz, EBRD and the Ministry of Environment of Ukraine. The first works will took place in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts.
Naftogaz start measuring in the framework of the project implementation on reducing methane emissions in the gas supply chain to Ukraine, the Naftogaz press service reports.
In early June the first work on finding and measuring the volume of methane leaks to the atmosphere was carried out at the Ukrgazdobycha and Ukrtransgaz facilities in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts.
The ground equipment and drones were applied for the designated operation.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the trilateral Memorandum between Naftogaz, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. The contractor is the Norwegian Carbon Limits company; the project is financed by the EBRD.
