NATO will help Ukraine to liquidate the radioactive burial site in Kirovohrad Oblast

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the State Agency for Management of the Exclusion Zone (SAEZ), within the framework of the NATO Trust Fund, have started the liquidation of the radioactive burial site located on the territory of the military unit A0981 in the village of Tsybuleve, Kirovohrad Oblast.

«We already have a positive experience of implementing similar projects in Ukraine with the NATO support. Two years ago, we cleared Vakulenchuk radioactive burial site in Zhytomyr Oblast. Now we commenced a project on liquidation radioactive burial site in the Kirovohrad Oblast,» – said the Head of SAEZ Vitalii Petruk

He added that the project costed EUR 1.5 million and its implementation period will last 18 months. The funds for the project are provided by Germany, UNIAN inform agemcy reported.

Mr Petruk also said that NATO will be responsible for all aspects of project management, while SAEZ will deal with the radioactive waste.

As The Journalist reported, France will help Kyiv to conserving archeology finds on the Postal Square.
