Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev noted that, thanks to the implementation of humanitarian initiatives in Donbas, it was possible to increase the level of local population confidence in the Ukrainian military, the press service of civil-military cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

“Together, with the introduction of humanitarian initiatives in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, we managed to significantly increase the level of local residents’ confidence in Ukrainian military in a fairly short time. This is an important factor in conditions of hybrid war waged today against Ukraine,” Nayev said.

It is reported that since May 2018, the Strategic Humanitarian Assistance Vostok initiative handed over the equipment, furniture, orthoses, hygiene products, clothing for doctors, and carts for disabled people, and other necessary things worth up to UAH 13 million to 28 medical and geriatric institutions, hospitals, dispensaries, and homes for disabled people in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

Also, as part of a strategic initiative, humanitarian aid for medical purposes totaling UAH 835,000 was transferred to four military mobile hospitals in the cities of Mariupol, Chasiv Yar, Pokrovske and Severodonetsk.

Military units, civil-military administrations, humanitarian, transport and charity organizations were involved in the “Help East” project work.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine reports one WIA in Donbas over past day.
