NBU abolishes need for customers to sign FX checks

National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) made some changes regarding the procedure for foreign exchange transactions. This was reported by the NBU press service.

According to the adopted changes, from now on Ukrainians allowed not to sign currency exchange operations’ receipts.

The National Bank allowed the banks to use the latest software cash registers for currency exchange, which created an electronic document. It will be equated to a regular receipt with the signature of the client.

These changes were made in order to bring the NBU’s decisions in line with the law on cash registers.

“Some other clarifying changes regarding the procedure for conducting foreign exchange transactions. In particular, was canceled the need to put cashier’s and client’s signatures, stamp imprint on documents of registrars of settlement operations,” the message says.

The relevant changes to the NBU decisions will enter into force on April 19, 2020.
