The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has issued a commemorative coin of UAH 50. It is dedicated to providing Tomos that officially recognized and established the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and granted it autocephaly. This is reported by the press service of the NBU.
The coin continued the “Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine” series. It is made up of 999 silver and weight 500 grams. It’s diameter is 85 millimeters.
In total, 1000 such coins will be put into circulation.
On the obverse of the coin placed the small State Emblem of Ukraine, in a semicircle of the “Ukraine” inscription.
The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is depicted on a mirror background on the reverse of the coin. He handed over the scroll (Tomos) to Epiphanius and to the Most Holy Church of Ukraine.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine introduces UAH 1000 banknote, withdraw 1, 2 and 5 kopecks from circulation.
