The National Bank of Ukraine announced a shortage of cash currency in the banks. This was reported by the NBU press service.
“We have seen signs of a lack of cash foreign currency at the banks in recent days caused by an increase in the population’s demand for cash,” the report said.
The National Bank noted that the correspondent accounts of banks concentrated USD 8 billion of non-cash currency and customers can freely transfer their currency to their accounts opened in other banks, convert one non-cash currency to another.
NBU in cooperation with other banks are working on to solve this problem.
