The Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Maksym Nefedov has said that the Ukraine’s customs service transfers about UAH 1 billion to the state budget every working day. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
To Nefedov, this happens amid decrease in taxable imports by 5.3% in January 2020 (4,900 tons), compared with January 2019 (5,200 tons).
The head of the customs service emphasizes that Ukraine continues to reduce duty rates on goods of European origin, as well as provides appropriate preferences to Ukrainian importers.
“Smugglers are forced to declare goods – in comparison with the corresponding period in 2019, the volume of declaring mobile phones, shoes, computer equipment, etc. has increased by two or more times,” Nefedov said.
He also expressed his hope that there will be a revival of foreign economic activity in February, which will increase the revenues to the state budget.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine’s Cabinet appointed deputy heads of State Custom Service of Ukraine.
