The Netherlands will allocate USD 5 million to strengthen security in Donbas region under a new project of the UN Program “Strengthening National and Local Capabilities for Effective Security, Justice and Reintegration Services in the conflict-affected areas of Ukraine”. This is reported by the UNDP press service.
The project is planned to be implemented within three years until mid-2022.
The project stipulates the cooperation with local institutions, responsible for the safety and well-being of the residents of the eastern Ukraine, as well as the development of cooperation between these institutions and local communities.
The new mechanisms for conflict resolution will be created, as well as the old ones will be improved; at the same time the reintegration services will be provided for former military personnel.
