Ukrainian Journalists’ Union reported on 53 incidents with use of force against journalists recorded in Ukraine in the first seven months of 2018

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) has recorded eight cases of physical aggression against journalists in July 2018. This was reported by the press service of the Union.
It is reported, that the NUJU has been monitoring how often journalists are beaten in Ukraine.
For example, eight attack against journalists were recorded in July. In particular, the cases of physical aggression was recorded in Kyiv and the Kyiv Oblast, as well as in еру Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Odesa and Kherson Oblasts.

«In fact, journalists are beaten in Ukraine every four days! There have been 53 incidents since the beginning of the year in Kyiv and in the regions, with the absence of precedents of proper punishment for attacks on journalists … The level of anxiety in journalistic circles about physical security is urgent,» – said the head of the NSJU, Serhiy Tomilenko.

As The Journalist reported earlier, the reporter of the program «Insider», Artem Kul, was attacked and robbed in Kyiv. Also, The Journalist reported, that the correspondent of the «Reporter» TV channel, Konstantin Greceany, was attacked by unknown people, while journalist Serhyi Nikitenko was beaten in Kherson.
