Ukrainians get 44,000 cars with foreign registration cleared through customs under new rules

For the period Nov. 25, 2018 to Jan. 22, 2019, Ukrainians have cleared through the customs 44,000 cars with foreign registration, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine informs.
“These cars were imported into the customs territory of Ukraine from January 1, 2015 until new rules for the import of such cars entry into force, and now they are in the customs regime of temporary importation or transit. Almost UAH 2.8 billion were paid for these vehicles," said in a statement.
Thus, for 36,700 cars (that were imported on the customs territory of Ukraine in violation of the requirements of the Customs Code of Ukraine) the owners voluntarily paid UAH 312 million (8,500 for each car), which freed them from administrative liability.
As The Journalist reported, last year, Ukrainians paid taxes in the amount of 228 billion hryvnia.
