This was on his page on Facebook saidCommissioner of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights Lyudmila Denysova.

«Oleg Sentsov stopped the hunger strike. This means that he is in critical condition, almost beyond the line. In the Russian Federation, only verbally, without medical certificates, they assured that his state of health was satisfactory. Not true. Then they would not «persuade» him to stop the hunger strike and would not constantly put pressure on the political prisoner psychologically. With such goals, with such force of will, devotion and a sincere Ukrainian position, a person could not surrender», the ombudsman wrote.

According to Denysova, the process of getting out of a hunger strike is even more complicated and worse than the refusal to eat.

«I am deeply convinced that in the Russian Federation they do not provide him with proper medical support. I have demanded to provide him with highly qualified specialists, but the Kremlin did not do that», noted Denisova.

Denysova expressed her willingness, if necessary, and the availability of an appropriate permit, today to go to the colony in Labytnangi to meet with the captive of the Kremlin.

«I want to see a conclusion about the state of health of Oleg Sentsov. In addition, it is professional dietitians who must develop a way out of fasting. We can bring these doctors from Ukraine or Europe. I demand from the Russian Federation to speed up the process of my admission to Oleg Sentsov. I need to personally make sure that nothing threatens his life now. If necessary, then I will go to Labytnangi colony today», she said.

It is known that today, on October 5, Valeriy Maksymenko, Deputy Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of the Russian Federation (RF), announced that the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov’s hunger strike, who was sentenced to 20 years in Russia, was voluntarily stopped.

Recall, on May 14 of this year, Oleg Sentsov announced an indefinite hunger strike demanding the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who illegally serve their sentences in Russian prisons. The political prisoner was starving for 145 days.

As previously reported by The Journalist, Russian media also reported that Ukrainian Oleg Sentsov stopped the hunger strike.
