Ukraine is one of the most mine contaminated areas in the world because of the conflict in the Donbas. This was reported by the press service of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Twitter.
The report says that the east of the country belongs to the most mine contaminated regions of the world, with the highest number of mine incidents globally for three consecutive years.
The UN also noted that during the military conflict in the east of Ukraine, more than 2,500 civilians died, another 9,000 were injured. In addition, 4.4 million people faced dire humanitarian situation.
As The Journalist reported, four militants had been eliminated in the Donbas, eleven were seriously injured.
