The Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, who was illegally convicted in the Russian Federation and accused of espionage, was convoyed to a colony. This was announced by public defender of Sushchenko, Mark Feygin, on Facebook.
«According to my information, Sushchenko was transferred to a penal colony yesterday,» – he wrote.
Earlier, Feygin told that the decision on the place for a person to service sentence in is made by the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation. This is reported by Ukrinform news agency.
«Only they decide and tell neither Roman, nor his relatives, nor lawyers this information,» – Feygin stressed.
This means that Sushchenko’s relatives will found out where he will serve his sentence only when the journalist arrives at the colony.
On the eve of October 5, an exhibition of drawings by Roman Sushchenko entitled «Art From Behind Bars»» was opened at the Ukrinform news agency in Kyiv.
«The exhibition presents 20 drawings, written by him in Lefortovo from 2016 to 2018,» – said in a statement.
As The Journalist reported, Lawyer Feygin could not met with Ukrainian Sushchenko in Lefortovo jail
