On September 2, the unit number 2 of the Khmelnitskiy nuclear power plant (NPP) was disconnected from the power grid. This was reported by the press service of the State Enterprise NNEGC «Energoatom».
The second power unit of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant was disconnected from the power grid due to the capital preventive maintenance. It is noted that during the planned works will be carried out the reconstruction and modernization of the power unit; a number of units will be replaced.
«During the transient processes of shutting down the power unit there were no violations of conditions and limits of safe operation reported. The radiation situation on the industrial site and in the adjacent regions is stable, is at the level corresponding to the normal operation of the power units and does not exceed the natural background values,» – the report said.
Note that the repair work will last for 80 days.
