Over 4.3 mln ID cards issued to Ukrainians since 2016

Since 2016, the State Migration Service of Ukraine issued more than 4.3 million ID cards. This was reported by the press service of the Ukraine’s Interior Ministry.

It is reported that in 2016, were issued about 280,000 ID cards, in 2017 – more than 1.1 million ID cards, in 2018 – more than 1.3 million ID cards, in 2019 – almost 1.6 million ID cards.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that everyone can exchange an ordinary passport for a new ID card, and a Ukrainian who has reached the age of 14 can immediately get an ID card.

The new ID card contains an electronic contactless chip, which cannot be replaced or copied, which makes practically impossible to fake electronic documents.
