Poroshenko awarded three priests of Moscow Patriarchate for merits in development of UOC

President Petro Poroshenko has awarded three priests of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) for "services in the development of an independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC)."

According to the presidential press service, Metropolitan Volodymir Shostatskiy (Simeon) was awarded with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 4th class, Metropolitan Oleksandr Drabinko was awarded with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class, and Metropolitan Stepan Abramchuk (Andriy) was awarded with the Order For Merit.

The priests of the UOC-MP, who went to the UOC, received an award for "a significant contribution to the establishment of spirituality, mercy and interfaith harmony, significant personal achievements in the development of the independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and many years of faithful service to the Ukrainian people."
