Nataliia Makogon, adviser to head of Kyiv metro, in an interview with DATA.UA told, that after introduction of the KyivSmartCard (E-ticket – ed.), the metro cashiers will re-qualify.
According to Makogon, there will be no need for cashiers at metro stations after the city switches to automated payment.
In turn, cashiers will retrain for other positions. Metro staff will not be reduced.
“People in metro study for a long time to work in certain positions, so we try not to let them go,” said Makogon.
Instead, cashiers will be able to work in the administrative segment, for example, to control the train schedule, and work in the depot or in the control room.
It is noted that metro lacks qualified personnel. More than 300 vacancies remain open due to low wages. According to adviser, the situation improved somewhat after fares’ increase.
“Last year, the tariff changed, and part of the money was sent to raise wages-they grew by 30%. The recruitment of workers has grown since then,” said Makogon.
Earlier “Journalist” reported that Ukrgasbank had sold the business center in the center of Kyiv.
