Olga Dinze, who is the lawyer of Ukrainian political prisoners Eugene Panov and Volodymyr Balukh, came to Kyiv to report on the progress of judicial review of the criminal cases of her clients. Also during a meeting with Ukrainian journalists, she told about the state of health of Oleg Sentsov, citing the words of his lawyer Dmitry Dinze, who recently returned from the colony where the Ukrainian filmdirector is located.
«For today, Oleg Sentsov is in prostration, this is not a medical term, but he is on the edge. However, he is not going to stop declared hunger strike. The only obstacle that can stop this can be force feeding, which the colony’s medicine staff can do if Sentsov health deteriorates and internal organs stops. I think that everything will be resolved in about a week, as was explained by the Head of medical unit of colony. Then there are two variants: either Oleg will be left alone, or medical workers will feed him through a dropper in the nose», – informed Dinze.
Olga Dinze also explained the situation about the breakdown of Sentsov’s meeting with the Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea Clement.
«Sentsov did not refuse to meet with Archbishop Clement. There’s another situation. He had to be informed that Archbishop Clement was not some kind of engaged person, he is a clergyman from Ukraine. There were no obstacles for Oleg to cancel the meeting. It did not take place, because in accordance with Russian legislation, it can be tolerated only with religious organizations registered on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Kyiv Patriarchate does not register its religious associations on the territory of the Crimea. Archbishop Clement, knowing this situation, continues to make every effort to meet with Sentsov», – the human rights activist said.
