The Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Ukraine has registered and approved a bill No.9475 on moratorium of export of firewood in the form of logs, branches, brushwood, and twigs, YurLiga reports.
The bill was registered in the Verhkovna Rada on January 16 and was approved by the Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Committee. According to the experts, the adoption of the bill will make it possible to overcome the smuggling of the timber wood, which is being shipped under the guise of firewood. It is also assumed that the introduction of a ban on the export of firewood will not only stop the timber smuggling, but will also help to reduce its cost and provide the population with an affordable resource for home heating.
