Ukrainian singer and winner of Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 commented on refusal of National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine from the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. And explained why this decision is worth reconsidering. Corresponding message Ruslana Lezhichko published on Instagram.
“I am categorically against decision to refuse to participate in Eurovision 2019!”, wrote Ruslana Lyzhychko.
Ruslana compared this scandalous situation with years when she herself participated in the competition. The singer proposes to develop a new anti-crisis procedure for another selection, so as not to leave the country without participating in the show.
“In the year when I went, Ukraine was also on the verge of refusing to participate, if I had not decided to participate. In 2004, national selection was closed, and two out of three applicants refused the offer of National Television Company to take part in Eurovision. Without any hesitation, I immediately accepted this offer,”the message reads.
Ruslana remembered the organizers of the National Selection, and noted that "they have no excuse, except for frank force majeure."
Previously, the "Journalist" reported that Ukraine officially refused to participate in Eurovision-2019.
