Ukraine launched autumn conscription campaign from Oct 1

Ukraine planned to draft about 18,000 people into army as part of the autumn conscription campaign. The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ukrinform news agency reported.

«According to a presidential decree and a Government ordinance, measures will be taken in October-December on the conscription of citizens for fixed-term military service. It is planned to draft and send 17,960 people to the troops, including 9,010 to the Armed Forces, 6,500 to the National Guard, 1,550 to the State Border Guard Service, and 900 people to the State Special Transport Service,» – said the Deputy Head of the of conscription and manning department of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Dendebera.

It is noted that UAH 64.9 million were allocated to provide the draft. It is assumed that the funds will be transferred to the regional military commissariats.
Soldiers who will serve fixed term of time military service will not be involved in the tasks in Donbas. This was reported in the Armed Forces HQ.
