SFS increases fines for non-cleared cars with European registration from May 24

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine reports that simplified rules on administrative responsibility for owners of cars with European registration plates will be in effect until May 23. The penalties for non-cleared cars will be increased starting from May 24, Ukrainian News reports.

Customs officers report that after May 23, the citizens will face a UAH 170,000 fine (or confiscation of a vehicle, after relevant court decision) if term of transit or temporary importation of a vehicle with foreign registration will exceed 30-days period.

At the same time, the citizens, who imported the car from January 1, 2015 until present law comes into force, have a 180-days transition period.

Fines also provided for driving a vehicle, which deadlines for its temporary importation or movement in the customs transit regime were violated.

As The Journalist reported, SFS officials in the Lviv Oblast were ‘laundring’ more than UAH 500 million monthly.
