The minister of Environment and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak, said, that two spent fuel storage facilities are under construction in Chernobyl exclusion zone, «112 Ukraine» reports.

The minister said that two Spent fuel storage facilities are under construction in Chernobyl exclusion zone. One is to store ChNPP spent fuel, moved from the old storage facility, and this is done by the Ministry of Ecology, as the Administration of the exclusion zone is subordinate to the Ministry of Ecology.
Also, Semerak said that a central storage facility for spent nuclear fuel is under construction. This project was ordered by Energoatom, which indicates that this is an extremely important project.
The minister noted that spent fuel is a valuable product that can be used for other purposes.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, another fire was liquidated in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
