Solar power plant will be built in Cherkasy oblast

The construction of a solar power station began on the territory of a former sugar factory in the city of Kamianka, Cherkasy oblast, Uryadoviy Kurier reports.
Preparatory work for the construction of the power plant is already taking place on 50 hectares area. Previously, filtration fields of a sugar factory were located here.
"The investor, the Norwegian Scatec Solar company, which has construction experience in many countries around the world, plans to invest almost EUR 30 million in the plant construction. In Ukraine, the company is represented by LLC Clean Energy-2011," the report said.
Last year, the company Scatec Solar has already transferred to the accounts of the executive committee of Kamianka City Council UAH 880,000 compensation for cutting down green spaces.
Construction of the power plant is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.
The electricity will be generated into the general energy system of Ukraine. The power of the station estimated at 25 MW.
