Some 397 settlements across Ukraine saw blackout after deterioration of weather, State Emergency Service (SES) press service reports.
To SES, residents of eight oblasts, namely Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, remained without electricity.
“On the night of January 30, some 397 settlements in eight oblasts of Ukraine saw a blackout after power line safety system was triggered due to complicated weather conditions including precipitation and wind gusts, namely: 201 settlements in Poltava Oblast, another 88 in Chernihiv Oblast, 72 in Sumy Oblast, 10 in Kirovohrad Oblast, 10 in Donetsk, 8 in Cherkasy, 6 in Dnipropetrovsk and 2 in Zaporizhzhya,” rescuers report.
Oblasts energy distribution companies (Oblenergo) deployed their repair teamsto tackle blackouts.
