As of May 5, 496 food markets in Ukraine resumed their work. This was reported by the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
According to the service, in the period from May 1 – 5, experts from the territorial bodies of the State Service for Food Safety issued 299 orders (proposals), compiled 28 protocols, local authorities were informed on 152 cases, on the other 158 cases were informed the National Police bodies.
Due to inadequate preparation for work under quarantine conditions, 83 agri-food markets independently stopped their activities (including 32 agri-food markets in Kyiv) and 5 markets were closed by decision of local authorities.
Gov’t Representative: Quarantine may be prolonged until September.
