There are over one million immigrants working in Poland – nearly 900,000 of them are Ukrainians, the RMF24 news and information website reports.
“Tensions on the labor market have been significantly relaxed by the flow of labor migrants. There are nearly 900,000 immigrants from Ukraine alone, as well as migrants from other countries, like, for instance, Belarus. We believe there are over one million labor migrants working in the Polish economy,” Jacek Kotłowski, the deputy director of the Economic Analysis Department of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) said.
He added that an average labor worker from Ukraine or Belarus works in Poland for around seven months a year.
As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian migrants transferred more than USD 5.5 bln to Ukraine since year start.
