State Statistics Service, after a sample survey of household living conditions, released data that Ukrainians spent almost half of their income on food and non-alcoholic beverages, reports 112.Ukraine.

For the third quarter of 2018, Ukrainians spent an average of 44.5% of their own income on food and beverages. According to the statistics service, the average household includes 2.11 people. On food in one of these households spend 3 thousand 332 UAH. At the same time, the most money is allocated for the purchase of meat and meat products – 23%. Ukrainians spend on average 15.8% of their income on bread and bread products – 552 UAH per month. For the purchase of milk, cheese and eggs, people emit 12.8% – 444 UAH. Ukrainians spend 8% on vegetables – 279 UAH, and even less on fruit – 6.1% (213 UAH). According to the State Statistics Service, Ukrainians on average pay 8% of their income for utilities – UAH 601 per month.
In addition, the statistics service calculated that Ukrainians spend an average of 139 UAH on personal household, UAH 242 on assistance to relatives and other people, UAH 32 on real estate acquisition, UAH 40 on repairs and construction, and on acquiring stocks and currency, deposits in the bank and certificates – 314 UAH, for alimony – 7 UAH, for taxes, fees and contributions – 1 UAH, other expenses amount to 10 UAH.
