The 24th seasonal squad included scientists of various specialties, mainly geologists, geophysicists, meteorologists and biologists. For the first time in many years, four women set off on a seasonal expedition.
Scientists using drones and innovative software will build 3-D models of glaciers. It is planned to begin a comprehensive study of various bacteria and viruses, the mechanism of "blooming" of the water of the Southern Ocean and the spread of persistent organic pollutants in the waters of the Antarctic. Meteorological studies will now include the study of solar activity. At the same time, scientists will be able to expand the geographical boundaries of research.
