Head of the State Service for Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine Oleh Kyryliuk noted that the problem of illegal amber mining and the legalization of this activity can be solved by geological study of sites to provide legal rights to amber mining, Ukrinform reported.
The geological study of such new amber sites will cost UAH 20-30 million of investment.
Kyryliuk emphasized that the electronic trading is the only effective anti-corruption and transparent way to obtain mining rights not only for amber, but for any mineral.
He also added that the state will receive additional budget revenues from the sale of special permits for the use of amber subsoil.
