Health Minister Maksym Stepanov during his briefing has noted that the number of PCR tests for coronavirus has increased almost 100 times since April, Ukrinform reports.
“We have increased the number of PCR tests by almost 100 times compared to the first weeks of April. Back then, there were 200 tests per day, and now we are already testing about 20,000 persons per day,” Stepanov said.
The head of the Ministry of Health noted that UAH 600 million was spent on financing laboratory centers, which included the purchase of quality test systems and additional equipment.
Stepanov also added that, in addition to funds allocated from the state budget, the Ministry of Health has agreed on a financing program with the World Bank, and with these funds it is planned to purchase 1.2 million test systems.
