Doug Field, Tesla’s engineering chief, has left the company after being on an extended leave of absence, since May, 2018. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Mr Field had been with the electric-car maker for almost five years. He held his post since 2003.
It is noted that the departure of Mr Field has become one of the most notable losses in the leadership of Tesla over the past two years. Thanks to Field’s work, which simplified the engineering design of the electric car Tesla Model 3, the company was able to reduce vehicle’s cost.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Tesla Motors lays off about 9% of its employees.
