The capital funicular is celebrating 114 years

Today, June 7, Kyiv funicular celebrates its birthday – 114 years.

According to the press service of Kyivpassrastrans,  funicular was established during 1902-1905, and according to the time of construction it is the second in Ukraine after Odessa.

The funicular system, connecting the historic Upper City and Podil, passes through a steep Vladymyrsky Hill overlooking the Dnipro River.

Previously, the “Journalist” reported that the authorities of Kiev are planning to reconstruct the funicular building.
