Today at 8 a.m. in Mechnikov hospital in Dnipro fighter Mykola Volkov (call sign “Smurfik”) has died.
This is reported by the commander of Hospitallers battalion, Yana Zinkevich:
“Unfortunately, our brave Smurfik has just died. He fought desperately for the last few days. Thousands of people worried and prayed for him. Thank you all for your indifference and support of the Smurfik Mykola Volkov Hospitaller, fighter of the 8th battalion of Aratta, a 20-year-old young man from Mariupol, this desperate guy from the very beginning of the war was not indifferent to the fate of Ukraine. Each of us loved, each tried to save. For enemy snipers there are no rules, doctors and paramedics for them the desired goal.
Therefore, everyone who is on the front line is avenging our Smurfik, and we will continue to risk our lives to save yours. It is hard to go on, hard to be a commander and understand that your people may die or be wounded. But I will continue to work to save more lives, fewer deaths, the wounded survive. ”
The young man was shot in the head last Wednesday, April 10th.
Farewell to Mykola Volkov will be held in the memorial house of the city of Mariupol on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
Mykola will be buried in the Walk of Fame in the Starokrym cemetery.
