The solemn procession of dead Ukrainian soldiers’ mothers took place in Kyiv on International Mother’s Day (PHOTOS)

In Kyiv on May 12, on International Mother’s Day, a solemn procession was held with the participation of the mothers of the Ukrainian soldiers who died in the war in the Donbas. This is reported on the site of “Ukrainian Zhynocha Varta” organisation.

As reported by the source, the event was initiated by a number of public organizations: “Ukrainian Zhynocha Varta”, “Hromadsky Іnformatsіyny Prostir”, “Invictus mothers of Ukraine”, “Womens’ Federation for peace in all world”, “Association of Revolution of dignity physicians ” and  Revolution of Dignity National Museum .

The organizers of the event set their goal not only to honor the mothers who gave Ukraine their sons and daughters, but also to draw public attention to the problems of mothers and family members of the fallen soldiers.

The names of the dead Ukrainian servicemen and law enforcement officers were written by their mothers on the 15-meter-high Flag of Memory, which was solemnly carried from Mykhailovskiy Square to St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral, where the mothers of the dead soldiers received the award of national honor “Mother of ATO Fighter” and solemn service.

Also during the event, all Kyiv residents and guests could sign a card “A few warm words for the hero’s mother”, which were then transferred to the march’s participants.

Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that Mother’s Day was solemnly celebrated in Kyiv.
