The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has calculated the amount of money the labor migrants have transferred to Ukraine in 2018: it estimated at USD 11 billion. This was stated by the acting NBU Governor Kateryna Rozhkova at a press briefing, European Truth reports.
“Given the trends that are occurring, namely the equalization of wages in Ukraine, the resumption of economic growth, as well as the labor market surplus of our closest neighbors, we expect a slowdown in labor migration,” Rozhkova said.
At the same time, she noted that the NBU predicts some growth in remittances from labor migrants due to a nominal increase in their income.
