Turchinov: Ukraine has insufficient resources to ensure her full-fledged defense

Ukraine’s defense funding has increased almost 20 times over the five years of combat operations in Donbas. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, TSN reports.
Turchinov notes that new weapons and military equipment are currently development under NATO standards. However, despite the increase in funding, Ukraine still has insufficient resources to ensure full-fledged defense of the country.
The NSDC Secretary emphasizes the need to change approaches and transparency in the formation of the state defense budget.
“This is limited access information, and this system leads to the fact that we have subjective decisions, lack of competitiveness in the formation and execution of the state order – and as a result, corruption risks increase,” he stressed.
