The construction of a new runway will soon begin at Boryspil airport. This was reported airport CEO Pavlo Ryabikin, reports RBK-Ukraine.
By the end of 2018, a feasibility study will be received for the construction of a new runway in the Boryspil. It is noted that for the implementation of the project, Chinese investors are ready to attract a loan in the Chinese Eximbank. It will cost about $ 280- 300 millions.
«A new runway will be located near Terminal F and will replace the strip that was built in Soviet times. The latter will serve as a technological platform. But she will be able to take the aircraft in case of an emergency landing. In addition, the airport will continue to operate the runway near Terminal D. Thus, we will have two operating lanes and one non-operational», said Ryabikin.
It is reported that during 2019 the project will be developed, and then its implementation will begin. According to preliminary forecasts, it will take two to three years.
«Project will be implemented in 2022», said Pavlo Ryabikin.
Earlier, The «Journalist» reported said that a low-cost terminal would be opened at the Boryspil airport.
