In the Zaporizhia oblast, law enforcement officers stopped illegal fishing in the Sea of Azov. About this informs the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Heads of two state institutions from the fisheries and marine ecology sector organized a scheme of illegal fishing during the spawning ban in the Sea of Azov. It is noted that officials granted permits to private structures to capture allegedly fish samples necessary for carrying out relevant research. In fact, they carried out illegal fishing on an especially large scale. During the special operation, two ships were detained, on which there almost ten tons of fish were caught by poachers. During the twenty-five searches at warehouses of economic entities involved in illegal fishing, almost five hundred tons of fish and fish products were seized.
According to preliminary findings, the amount of state losses reaches 50 million hryvnia.
Earlier «Journalist» reported that a jellyfish was caught near Kyiv in the Dnipro river.
