All-Ukrainian contest of Koran experts will be held in Kyiv. It is scheduled for November 10 and 11. About this reports Religion in Ukraine edition.
In a few days in the capital, the knowledge and skills of Quran readers will be assessed. The competition is organized by the All-Ukrainian Association «Alraid» and the UMU «Umma». The jury will include Sheikh Rashid bin Halyaf al-Dosari and other competent persons, in particular Ayder al-Haj and imam-hatibi of Ukrainian mosques. During the competition, participants are divided by the level of their knowledge. Age, gender and native language of the contestants do not matter.
Note that memorizing the Koran by heart is a public duty of Muslims.
