A film about a boy from Donbass can be nominated for an Oscar

American Film Academy, which awards Oscars, accepted the documentary «The distant barking of dogs», which tells about a 10-year-old boy who lives with his grandmother not far from the zone of military operations in Donbass, reports 112.Ukraine.

The film, which was shot in the village of Gnutove (Donetsk region), won at five prestigious film festivals, which are qualified by American Film Academy, thanks to which the film received a chance to get into the long list of Oscar nomination for the best documentary. From it later formed a shortlist, and then a list of five movies-nominees.

Recall that this year the best documentary film in the opinion of the American Film Academy was the painting «Icarus» by Brian Vogel, telling about the doping of Russian athletes.
