In Chernihiv oblast since the beginning of the epidemic season of 2018-2019, nine fatal cases of influenza have been registered, five of them in the regional center. In connection with what is happening in Chernihiv, they began to disinfect trolley buses. About this reports the press service of Chernihiv Oblast Laboratory Center of Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In the third week of 2019, 9032 people became ill in oblast, of whom 4,263 children. The incidence rate below the epidemic threshold is 4.1%. 411 people were hospitalized, of which 224 children (54.5%).
In oblast center, in turn, 3,389 people became ill with the flu, of which 1,645 were children. The incidence rate below the epidemic threshold is 5.4%. The excess of the epidemic incidence rate of influenza and URTI is registered in Varvinskiy, Horodianskiy, Koryukovskiy, Menskiy, Nezhinskiy, Prilutskiy, Sosnytskiy, Srebnjanskiy districts, cities of Nyzhyn and Pryluky.
“Since the beginning of the epidemiological season of the virology laboratory by PCR, 80 samples of biological material have been investigated, 68.8% of them have positive results with the prevalence of influenza A (H1N1) viruses,” the message says.
The H1N1 strain is the so-called “swine flu”, a subtype of the influenza A virus, the most common type of influenza that causes the most large-scale epidemics.
In order to avoid the spread of the disease, in Chernihiv disinfect the trolley buses with a special solution. It is held every two days.
