Ukraine has approved 100 modern standards of higher education (73 bachelor and 27 masters), which set forth the expected results of the student for the successful completion of training.
This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych, the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
The new standards were developed in the spring of 2016 with the involvement of more than 800 specialists from universities, academic institutions and representatives of employers.
The innovativeness of these standards lies in the fact that they do not define specific courses, their volumes or forms of control that a student should listen to, but the result that a student should achieve after graduation. How to proceed to this result is the matter of the university and the student, Hrynevych emphasized.
“This process could not get off the ground for a long time, since we did not have the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. This agency must agree on a new standard before it comes into force. A little more than 100 days of the work of the National Agency for Quality Assurance – and now Ukraine have 100 quality standards,” Hrynevych noted.
In total, 266 standards of higher educational degrees of bachelor, master and PhD have been developed.
