Ukraine, Britain will hold joint military exercises in the Black Sea

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace has said that the UK will lead a multinational maritime training initiative for the Ukrainian Navy to improve its ability to counter threats in the Black Sea region, Evropeyska Pravda reports with reference to the press service of the British government.

“It’s great to be in Ukraine for my second time since becoming Defense Secretary. The Maritime Training Initiative is another step forward for the UK’s defence relationship with Ukraine,” Wallace said.

The UK has already assisted thousands of Ukrainian military personnel acquire many skills.

Naval training will enable Ukraine to collaborate even closely with the NATO Alliance.

Courses will be delivered by the Royal Navy and naval personnel from Sweden, Canada and Denmark.

More nations are expected to join in the near future.
