Ukraine can reduce external dependence of domestic defense industry

This statement was made by the Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine, Serhiy Krivonos, at one of the world’s largest defense industry exhibitions IDEF 2019 in Istanbul, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukraine can reduce the external dependence of the national defense industry, taking in account Turkish experience. This is in case there will be a clear state level program, support from the state and not only for state enterprises, but also for private ones. Because our private enterprises that produce equipment and weapons, give the lion’s share of the income from the sale of weapons, and they are more flexible. There is interest in the fact that private enterprises to occupy that niche with the support of the state,” said Krivonos.

Also, Serhiy Krivonos noted that there is no need to “reinvent the wheel”, but to focus on the best experience and to use it.

As The Journalist reported, the Neptune mobile cruise missile complex will be tested in May.
