The production of the cheap electricity will decrease, while the more expensive one will increase this year.
The Ministry of Energy published an updated electricity balance forecast for 2020, which provides for a decrease in production at all power plants in Ukraine, except for cogeneration plants and renewable energy sources.
According to Ukrenergo, the total decrease in electricity production is 5.9% (up to 143 billion kW/h).
At the same time, a decrease in production at nuclear power plants is projected at 8.6% (up to 73.7 billion kW/h), at thermal power stations – at 7.8% (up to 38.9 billion kW/h), at hydroelectric power stations – by 4.8 % (up to 4.85 billion kW/h).
At the same time, production at the CСHP will remain almost at the same level – 11.1 billion kW/h. Green power’s plants should generate 11.37 billion kW/h.
Ukraine also plans to import 4.9 billion kW/h from the EU.
Electricity export is forecasted at about 7 billion kW/h, of which 6.6 billion kW/h intended for export to the EU countries.
