Ukraine increased import of agricultural products by 12% in 2020. Half of the imports come from the EU.

In the H1 of 2020, Ukraine increased imports of agricultural products up to USD 3.2 billion, which is USD 0.4 billion more (by 12.3%). This was reported by the press service of the National Research Center Institute of Agrarian Economics.

About half of all imports come from the European Union (USD 1.59 billion).

Also, Ukraine bought food products in Asia worth USD 610 million (19% of all imports), Latin America – USD 252 million (8%) and Africa – USD 163 million (5%).

Among the main countries-suppliers of agricultural products to Ukraine is Poland. (USD 368 million), Germany (USD 238 million), Turkey (USD 232 million), Italy (USD 189 million), USA (USD 169 million) and France (USD 155 million).

Most of all, Ukraine imports fruit and berry products worth USD 351 million, fish and seafood (USD 295 million), tobacco products (USD 243 million), alcoholic beverages (USD 199 million), cocoa products and chocolate (USD 152 million).

Ukraine imported oilseeds and fruits worth USD 215 million, various food products, including extracts, concentrates, ready-made sauces (USD 215 million), vegetables – mainly tomatoes and potatoes (USD 191 million).
