Last week, a briefing was held on the launch of the pilot project “Internet of things on the roads based on fifth-generation communication technology 5G”.
This is reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“Our main goal is to ensure that the roads are “smart”, that is, those that integrate the entire transport infrastructure into one intelligent network, ensuring the safety and comfort of users. This project is one of the highest priority and most important for the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. It will allow you to create a virtual information network that will help in solving such problems as traffic safety, traffic monitoring and traffic flow analysis. We have just signed a memorandum with our international partners, which provides for cooperation on the implementation of the pilot project. This is the unique case when immediately after signing we move to the active phase of cooperation. Yesterday, installation work began on equipping the pilot section of the H-01 highway with modern technologies of the Internet of Things. And this is an important step to make our roads reasonable,” said Volodymyr Omelyan.
The minister said that the project is divided into three stages.
